Typical Syllabus Outline

The A Level  Engineering course provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development and manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. The course is both practical, and work related. Learning is achieved through the completion of projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course will require elements of home study and some assessments will take the form of tests.

Each unit is split up into a number of assignments that you have to complete within a set time. Each assignment will be internally marked and awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction level. You have to complete all the assignments to complete the qualification.

This course can prepare students for further education at College/University or a wide range of careers that directly use Engineering. Alternatively, students can progress onto the Higher National Diploma (HND) Engineering course or seek employment as an Advanced Engineering Apprentice.
